The committee was established in 2022 by the Lynchburg Museum System, University of Lynchburg, and Quaker Memorial Presbyterian Church.

To document and preserve the important story of the Quaker origins of Lynchburg, and to engage residents, students, and visitors with this heritage and legacy at the South River Meeting House and Burial Ground.
